We're excited to give you a preview of our upcoming Planner Page! This new feature is designed to make organizing, scheduling, and prioritizing your tasks more intuitive than ever. Instead of combing through hidden menus or juggling multiple tabs, you'll manage your tasks visually—just drag and drop them into categories that reflect their importance and timing.

What is the Planner Page?

The Planner Page is a visual board that sorts your tasks into clear, easy-to-understand columns:

  • Needs Planning (📝): For tasks that require immediate attention to scheduling
  • Critical (⚡): For tasks you must handle right now
  • Opportunity Now (🚀): For tasks best addressed in the near term
  • Over the Horizon (🌅): For tasks that are important, but can wait a bit longer
  • Parking Lot (🅿️): For tasks that aren't ready for action just yet
  • Someday (⏳): For tasks without a defined start date, and that may never become urgent

By labeling these columns with plain language and simple icons, the Planner Page gives you an immediate sense of what needs doing now, what's coming up, and what can wait.

By focusing on what matters most in the present moment, you maintain a sharp sense of priority without endless lists distracting you.

How Do We Determine if Tasks Need Planning?

If a task should have started by now but hasn't—or if it's slipped past its due date (and isn't marked Critical)—it will appear in Needs Planning (📝). This makes sure no task silently falls through the cracks. Instead of getting lost, it's highlighted so you can quickly schedule it where it belongs.

When you move a task into a particular column, the Planner Page can automatically set a start date based on that category's intended timeframe:

  • Move to Critical (⚡) → Set to start today
  • Drop into Opportunity Now (🚀) → Schedule for near future
  • Focus on priorities while the Planner handles the timing

We're excited to share some recent updates and important reminders to help you make the most of Mind Your Now. Let's dive into what's new and what you might have missed!

1. New Habits Page: Your One-Stop Habit Hub

We've introduced a brand new Habits page that allows you to view and adjust all your habits in one convenient location. This centralized view makes it simpler than ever to track your progress and make quick adjustments to your routine.

2. Revamped Priorities Page: Drag, Drop, and Conquer

Our new Priorities page introduces an intuitive drag-and-drop interface. Now you can easily adjust the priority of your tasks by simply moving them between the Critical, Opportunity Now, Over The Horizon, and Parking Lot categories. This visual approach helps you quickly reorganize your priorities as your needs change.

3. Enhanced "Kick The Can" Feature

We've made some significant improvements to our popular "Kick The Can" feature:

  • Smarter Rescheduling: The feature now only reschedules tasks with a start date of today or in the past. Future tasks remain untouched unless you choose to use the "Rebalance" option.
  • Improved Distribution: We've refined our distribution logic to prevent tasks from being pushed too far into the future. Here's how it works:
    • Critical tasks are spread over at least 7 days, with no more than 5 per day.
    • Opportunity Now tasks are distributed across at least 14 days, with a maximum of 20 per day.
    • Over The Horizon tasks are spread over a minimum of 30 days, with no more than 3 per day.
    • Parking Lot tasks are distributed across at least 90 days, with a cap of 3 per day.
  • Future View Reminder: Don't forget to use the "Show Future" option to view tasks that have been rescheduled to future dates.

4. Calendar Integration Reminder

We'd like to remind you about the importance of calendar integration to get the most out of Mind Your Now. This integration allows our AI to schedule your tasks more effectively around your existing commitments. Here's what you need to know:

  • You can integrate both Google and Microsoft calendars with Mind Your Now.
  • If you haven't set up your calendar integration yet, here's how to do it:
    1. Go to your account settings
    2. Select "Calendar Integration"
    3. Follow the prompts to link your preferred calendar(s)

By connecting your calendars, you'll experience a more seamless and personalized task management experience.

Ever felt overwhelmed by your to-do list? That's where "Kick The Can" comes in. With just a click, you can push your non-urgent tasks into the future, giving you breathing room to focus on what's truly important right now.

How Does It Work?

When you use "Kick The Can", our smart algorithm will:

  1. Reschedule non-recurring tasks based on their priority
  2. Keep your recurring and auto-scheduled tasks intact
  3. Clear your immediate schedule of non-critical items

It's like having a personal assistant who knows exactly how to reorganize your schedule when you're in a pinch!

The "Rebalance" Option: Your Secret Weapon

We've also included a special "Rebalance" option. When selected, this powerful feature will:

  • Reschedule ALL your uncompleted tasks, including future ones
  • Spread out your workload more evenly across your entire schedule

It's perfect for those times when you need a complete schedule overhaul!

Why We Created "Kick The Can"

We understand that life doesn't always go according to plan. Unexpected meetings pop up, projects take longer than anticipated, or sometimes you just need a mental health day. "Kick The Can" gives you the flexibility to adapt your schedule quickly and easily, without losing sight of your commitments.

How to Use "Kick The Can"

Using this feature is as easy as 1-2-3:

  1. Click the "Fast Forward" icon in the action bar
  2. Review the summary of changes
  3. Hit "Confirm" to reschedule your tasks

Ladybug Update Stabilization

Some of you may remember the Ladybug update we announced earlier, which introduced an AI-powered automatic task scheduling feature. We've been thrilled to see the positive response and valuable feedback from our community. Since its release, our team has been hard at work on stabilizing the Ladybug update. While it was an early preview, we're now confident that the Ladybug update is more stable, providing a seamless scheduling experience.

Introducing Schedule Editors

One of the major enhancements we've added is the Schedule Editor feature. This feature allows you to manually adjust and customize your task schedules as per your needs. While our AI does a great job at automatically scheduling tasks, we understand that sometimes you might need to make manual adjustments. The Schedule Editor is designed to provide you with the flexibility to do just that.

Connecting Your Calendars

To get the most out of Mind Your Now, we've also added the ability to connect your Google and Microsoft calendars. By connecting your calendars, Mind Your Now can schedule your tasks around your personal, family, or work events. Please note that you should set up your Google calendar as your primary account and Microsoft calendar as a secondary one.

Introducing Ladybug: Automating Task Scheduling with AI

We are excited to announce our latest update, internally dubbed "Ladybug". This new feature uses real AI to automatically schedule your tasks into calendar events. With Ladybug, you can easily manage your to-do list and free up more time for the things that matter.

What is Ladybug?

Ladybug is an early preview of our new automated task scheduling feature. It uses AI to schedule your tasks around events on your personal, family, or work calendars. This means that you can focus on what you need to do, without worrying about whether you have time to do it.

How Does Ladybug Work?

To use Ladybug, you need to have your Google calendar set up as your primary account. This means that it should be the first calendar listed on your Mind Your Now account. You can then add Microsoft calendar as a secondary calendar, but please note that there may be some issues with stability of the Microsoft support. If you encounter any issues, you can simply delete and reconnect your Microsoft account. We are working to clean up these known issues over the next few weeks.

Once you have set up your calendars, Ladybug can start working its magic. It uses AI to automatically schedule your tasks based on the events on your calendar. Ladybug can also help you organize your tasks into four categories: Critical, Opportunity Now, Over The Horizon, and Parking Lot items. This makes it easy to prioritize and manage your tasks.

Please note that Ladybug is still in early preview, and there may be some issues with the schedule editor and timezone compatibility. We are working to address these issues over time to improve your experience.

How to Use Ladybug

Using Ladybug is easy. Simply log in to your Mind Your Now account and navigate to the new Home/Briefing page. Here, you can see your upcoming meetings and events, as well as your to-do list. Ladybug will automatically schedule your tasks around your events, and you can easily see what you need to do next.

Ladybug is still in early preview, so there may be a few bugs or missing features. However, we are confident that it will help you manage your tasks more efficiently and free up more time for the things that matter. So why not give it a try today?
