Smart Sync Technology​

Mind Your Now uses intelligent sync to keep your data fresh without draining your battery or using excessive data.

Delta Sync​

Instead of downloading everything every time, we only sync what's changed:

  • Google Calendar: Uses sync tokens to fetch only new/changed events
  • Microsoft Calendar: Uses delta links for efficient updates
  • Tasks: Incremental updates based on last sync time

This means:

  • 90%+ reduction in data transfer after initial sync
  • Faster sync times
  • Less battery usage
  • Works better on slow connections

Background Sync​

Your data stays current even when you're not looking:

  • Push notifications trigger automatic syncs

Local Storage​

Mind Your Now uses IndexedDB to store your data locally:

  • TaskStore: All tasks, habits, and chores
  • EventStore: Calendar events
  • LinkStore: Calendar connections for offline event creation
  • SyncStateStore: Tracks what's been synced

Privacy & Security​

  • Data is encrypted at rest on your device
  • Only your data is stored locally
  • You can clear local data anytime in Settings
  • No sensitive credentials stored locally

Tips for Best Experience​

  1. Keep the app updated - We're always improving sync
  2. Allow background refresh - Enables push-triggered sync
  3. Connect to WiFi initially - First sync downloads all data
  4. Trust the sync - You'll see a sync indicator when updating

Troubleshooting​

Data seems stale?​

  • Pull down to refresh on mobile
  • Check your internet connection
  • The sync indicator shows last sync time

Changes not appearing on other devices?​

  • Ensure both devices have internet
  • Check that notifications are enabled
  • Force refresh on the other device

Need to clear local data?​

  • Go to Settings > Data Management
  • Choose "Clear Local Cache"
  • App will re-sync from server
