48.0.0 — The mobile app, redesigned screen by screen

Version 48.0.0 is our biggest mobile release yet: every screen got a pass — a calmer tab bar, a Today page that leads with what matters, a rebuilt calendar, and a Kaia that finally feels like part of the app.

✨ New​

  • Groceries joins the tab bar. The floating cart button is gone — Groceries is now a regular tab with its to-buy count on the icon, so exactly one thing in the bar ever looks selected. The shortcut lives on: press and hold it to start talking to Kaia.
  • Today leads with your focus. Right under the zone tiles, Today now shows the tasks that need you most — Critical if you have any, otherwise Opportunity Now — followed by what's next on your calendar, then chores and habits.
  • A calendar built around your day. Day view is now the default, with one compact header — the date, a Day/List switch, and a filter button — over a tappable week strip. Filters tuck away until you want them, and a small dot reminds you when one is on.
  • Sessions tell you why they were set aside. Kaia's session list now explains each parked conversation — "set aside after 2 hours of quiet", "set aside when you started a new session" — so picking up where you left off makes sense at a glance.
  • A shopping mode for the store. Start Shopping now switches to a high-contrast dark screen built for supermarket lighting, and finishing a trip shows what you collected, keeps anything you skipped on the list, and drops you back on Today.

🛠 Improved & fixed​

  • Voice chat works again when it matters. Tapping the microphone could flash "Connecting" and then dead-end with "This conversation is not available." The root cause is fixed — Kaia now repairs the conversation on her side and just starts listening.
  • The Kaia screen behaves like a real screen. It has a back button, the message box and microphone sit above the iPhone home bar instead of underneath it, and the conversations drawer no longer starts cut off under the status bar.
  • Signing in stays fixed. An expired login could hang the app on the splash screen or bounce you between the welcome and home pages forever. Both are gone — the app now clears stale credentials and takes you straight to sign-in.
  • Long links behave. A task whose title is a web address now shows a tidy link chip ("goldcast.io") instead of a raw URL running off the edge of the screen — in the task list, on Today, and in chores.
  • Twice the tasks on screen. Task rows are slimmer with a colored edge per urgency zone, and the zone filters fit one row — the color dots carry the counts, and the selected zone spells out its name.
  • Chores got a scoreboard. Due-today count, this week's household leader, and your own points sit at the top of the Chores screen.
  • Everything has a way back, and a way to More. The notifications page opens with a proper back button, and your profile picture in the corner of every main screen opens More — Calendar, Planner, Debrief, Timers, Achievements, Household, and Settings all live one tap away.
