54.0 — A fix-it release: splash, notifications, logging out, and a calmer calendar
Version 54 is a rapid-response release that fixes a handful of rough edges that slipped into 53, and makes the end of the welcome tour genuinely useful.
✨ New
- The welcome tour's closing screen now does things. "Add your first task," "Connect a calendar," and "Ask Kaia for a plan" are real buttons: tap one and you're taken straight to the task editor, the calendar connection page, or a Kaia conversation.
- Log out is finally easy to find on your phone. There's now a big, unmistakable Log out button at the bottom of the More tab — no more hunting through Settings.
🛠 Improved & fixed
- The original splash screen is back. The animated sun-and-clouds scene you know returns on web and mobile, with the tagline restored on the iPhone launch screen.
- Notifications are usable again on mobile. The Notifications screen header no longer collides with the status bar, and the back button works — no more force-closing the app to leave.
- The notification stack on desktop reads correctly. New cards now arrive at the bottom of the stack with older ones peeking out above, and the "Notifications" bar only appears when there's actually nothing to show.
- Grocery trips look right in light mode. The in-store trip screen no longer switches to dark on its own, and the Finish Trip button stays pinned at the bottom instead of floating into the middle of your list.
- Upgrade errors tell the truth. If a payment can't start, you'll see a clear, specific message explaining why instead of a silent failure or a generic "something went wrong."
- Chores and habits no longer pile up on your calendar. A scheduling bug was writing duplicate copies of recurring chores and habits to your connected calendar; each one now appears exactly once, and removing a chore removes its calendar event too.
