51.0 — Your data lives on your device now

Mind Your Now is local-first from this release on: your tasks, habits, chores, groceries, and timers live on your device and keep working with no internet at all — on a plane, in a dead zone, anywhere. Everything syncs seamlessly the moment you're back online.

✨ New​

  • Works fully offline. Open the app with no connection and everything is just there — browse, add, complete, rename, and reorganize tasks, habits, chores, grocery lists, and timers with instant response. No spinners, no error screens. Changes save to your device immediately and sync to your other devices when a connection returns.
  • Encrypted backups of your data. Settings → Data & Privacy now has Backup & Restore: set a passphrase and export your entire dataset as a single encrypted file you own, with automatic periodic backups once enabled. Restore rebuilds a device from your backup — and refuses a file that belongs to a different account, so a backup can never overwrite someone else's data.
  • Reminders fire from your device. Task reminders are now scheduled on the device itself, so they keep working offline and stay accurate to what's actually on your list.
  • Search that works anywhere. Finding a task no longer needs a round-trip to the server — search runs against the data on your device, instantly, online or off.

🛠 Improved & fixed​

  • Sync is dramatically lighter. Checking for changes now costs the server (and your battery) a fraction of what it did — updates are fetched by "what changed since last time" instead of re-scanning everything, so busy accounts and long-lived tabs stay fast.
  • The persistent "Duplicate entry" popup is gone. Some accounts saw a red "409 Duplicate entry" toast on every single page load. The underlying double-provisioning is fixed and it won't come back.
  • Retried changes never vanish silently. If a change is rejected by the server and you hit Retry, it now stays visibly failed until it genuinely goes through — previously a retry could quietly mark the change as saved when it wasn't.
  • Timer completion dialogs can finally be dismissed. Dismissing a finished timer actually retires it now; previously it could reappear on every launch, on every device, forever.
  • Shared household chores are snappier and safer. The chore board no longer shows "No household members found" after an offline restart, completing chores offline can't stall other family updates, and one background bug that could make chore screens grind (rarely, for minutes) is gone.
